Matt's Birthday

I painted this as a birthday gift for my bofriend based off of a picutre from Prom 2009. I was really shaky about painting him a portrait because it is not what I am best at doing, but I surprised myself and him as well. I loved the resulting image I came up with and am glad I kept a monochramatic color scale with a hint of vivd lime green to really make the faces pop out.

  1. Hi I'm Mary, a student at Forsyth Country Day School in Mrs. Danahy's AP Art class. I really like the portrait because of the attention to value. I like that the whole composition is made up of various value shapes and only variations of black and white. It is a very successful portrait, good work!
